On June 22, 2026, K29 Mechatronics students at ETEK officially began the training module “Machine Design Thinking and Mechatronic System Design.” This specialized course is designed to help students develop a comprehensive engineering mindset and gain a deeper understanding of how industrial automation systems are conceived, designed, and implemented.
As manufacturing continues to evolve toward smart and connected production environments, engineers are expected to do more than operate equipment. They must be capable of analyzing production requirements, designing integrated solutions, and optimizing system performance. This training module provides students with the essential knowledge and design thinking skills required to meet those expectations.

A mechatronic system combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, sensors, pneumatics, and automation control into a unified solution that performs specific industrial functions.

Through this training program, students are introduced to:
These concepts are widely applied in industries such as electronics manufacturing, automotive component production, industrial machinery, consumer goods manufacturing, and smart factory operations.
One of the key objectives of the course is to help students transition from component-level understanding to system-level thinking.
Rather than focusing solely on individual mechanical or electrical elements, students learn how different technologies interact within a complete automation solution. This approach enables them to better understand machine functionality, production requirements, and the decision-making process behind industrial equipment design.

By cultivating system thinking, students are better prepared to tackle complex engineering challenges and contribute to the development of innovative automation solutions in the future.
ETEK’s training philosophy emphasizes the integration of academic knowledge with real-world industrial applications. Through practical, industry-oriented learning experiences, students gain exposure to the technologies, methodologies, and engineering standards commonly used in modern manufacturing environments.

The “Machine Design Thinking and Mechatronic System Design” module represents a critical step in preparing future engineers for careers in automation, intelligent manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.
By combining technical expertise, hands-on training, and industry-focused education, ETEK continues to develop highly skilled professionals capable of designing, implementing, and optimizing next-generation automation systems.
